A Personal Note from the team

What’s the story?

In this edition, we discuss the importance of teamwork in remodeling.

Dear Friends and Clients,

Can you believe it is June already? The year is flying by! This month we are talking about preparing for your remodeling, and it is a great segue into talking about our team.

Remodeling is a Team Sport

This time of year is really exciting if you follow sports. Hockey teams are in the midst of a run for the Stanley Cup. The Minnesota Women’s professional hockey team (they don’t have a nickname yet) just won the inaugural Walter Cup, and the Timberwolves… well, they at least made a run for the playoffs.

In each of these sports, it becomes abundantly clear how important it is to work as a team to accomplish a goal. Remodeling is no different. We have a team of employees, subcontractors, and vendors who do a remarkable job of bringing projects together. We sometimes think of our job as that of a conductor of an orchestra. We weave the many single parts of a project into a beautiful piece of music—while trying to avoid hitting the wrong notes!

Each person on our team is a special instrument with unique skills that they bring to the project. No one is more or less important, and the way we complete the project depends on all of them. Congrats to our team and crew—we continue to make great music!

We are working on bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries. We will build a new “second floor” on a single-story bungalow, and in a few weeks, we are starting a two-story kitchen and bedroom addition. Thank you to all our friends who refer us to their families and friends. We are grateful for your trust in our services.

The sauna roof, after a year, is 98% complete. I have ordered the wood for the sauna interior and the sauna room door. The sauna stove is at my office. I plan to finish the sauna room so that we can use it while we finish the rest of the sauna. Things are moving forward! We spent most April weekends at our cabin, and it was fun to watch the goldfinches turn from a pale yellow to a very vibrant yellow in three weekends. I hope you all are in your vibrant summer colors!

Until next month,

John and Marc
