vintage green bathroom design
Vintage Beauty
A fantastic vintage green bathroom design in South Minneapolis filled with charm and incredible attention to detail.
Straight Out of the Magazine
Every detail was meticulously crafted to bring the client’s vision to life, including a clever bump-out extension to solve a space challenge and add a spacious walk-in shower. The inspiration came from a magazine picture chosen by the client years ago, which they described as their dream bathroom. We worked hard to ensure every detail matched this vision perfectly.
Extending the bathroom makes room for a lovely shower.
The bathroom extension allowed for a new walk-in shower. While the layout remains similar, the space feels much larger thanks to the extension and the tankless Italian toilet.
Finding additional space on the second floor posed a challenge, but we managed to cantilever the floor joists to accommodate a portion of the shower, with a 2.5-foot extension supported by custom brackets.
Spectacular Tile Work
The vintage green bathroom design is elevated by the exquisite tile work by Hohn & Hohn, showcasing a tiled-in medicine cabinet and wainscoting detail. We love the ample open shelving, one crafted from marble and the other from chrome and glass. Additionally, two antique lights above the sink were beautifully re-chromed during restoration.
The shower features French doors with unique knobs that match those throughout the house. Bright light pours in through the marble window sill.
In the shower, there are multiple levers: for the rain shower, and handheld. Custom niche for tall bottles and a space to hang towels to dry.
Custom Linen Cabinet and Beveled Glass Mirror
A painted linen cabinet in the corner complements the design, and while the custom cove base isn’t pictured, it adds great detail. The custom beveled glass mirror on the back of the door is another special touch.
The tank is concealed behind the wall—a construction and design win that aesthetically opens up the space. Notice the dimmable push-button switches—a feature that can be found throughout the rest of the home.
